Both 2P - same itinerary, fare, etc, one upgraded. One not.

Just curious -

My husband & I are flying on Saturday. At the 48hr mark, my flight was upgraded - his was waitlisted. I booked them within minutes of each other, fare is the same, we're both 2P although he has slightly more EQM than me (each year), and site shows F6.

I'm stumped why that would be. Any ideas?

Does it matter? If you've trained him properly you're flying up front anyway.

They are not going to fill the FC cabin at T-48

If there is F6 and you cleared at t-48 there is a good (but finite) chance you will clear at the airport

Guessing the flight was NF1, you got the seat (maybe you booked yours 2 min before his), and now it's NF0?

They had one upgrade available at the time.

They took one person and waitlisted the other.

Oh - it was my seat no matter which name got picked. Not in question. Just seemed odd that a few minutes would make a difference. Forgot to check NF. It is indeed zero. Oh well. His got his window in E+. I'm sure he'll be fine.

Thanks all!

One microsecond (or whatever granularity they use for timestamps) makes a difference.
