E+ Refund Question
I am now a CO Silver with the link to UA Premier. I booked my first flight on UA metal a moth before I made status and was told by the person at UA res that if I purchased E+, I would pay for it at the time of ticketing, but they would refund the price if I was Premier by the time of the flight. Well the flight came around the other week and I had made status for the year. I submitted a refund request at united.com and got this email back: "Economy plus charges are non-refundable therefore we can not honor your refund request." I called the UA elite line through CO, and the agent just directed me back to the website. Any suggestions on how to get the refund?
Thanks

There are some situations where a refund would be due. For sure, if you end up in E-, that is one reason a refund would be processed (this would possibly happen in the case of an aircraft swap or irrops). Other reports have said that if you have bought E+, but get upgraded (i.e. applied for a mileage upgrade, etc. and get it) that they have been refunded also.
However, I don't think earning status after buying an E+ seat is a reason a refund will be given. I know this is definitely the case for the annual E+ option.

I agree; the terms and conditions state it's nonrefundable unless you purchase an upgrade to a premium cabin or an E+ seat is not available.
Unfortunately, you can't always believe what an agent tells you.
