It may be likely, but there's no way to know for sure. These planes get swapped all the time.

SEA-NRT (UA875) for tomorrow shows 77Q but united.com still shows the old seatmap...if it is new config when do they update the seatmap or do they just reassign seats at the airport?

In my experience, if they know ahead of time like in your case, it's between 12 and 24 hours out, but it could be any time up to the gate.

UA931 for 20th April is showing 77Q on United Cargo but the old 777 seatmap on United.com (it was showing the new config on United.com until yesterday) - which one is right?

No way to be sure, but ualcargo.com has a much better track record than united.com.

I just checked again and the United.com website seat plan has reverted back to the new config for UA931 on April 20th. As a result I totally lost my seat reservation (was on row 17 in Y) so Ive changed my seat for the 2nd time today. Looking at the seat plan now its interesting how the system has moved everyone from a new to old to new config. Its a real hassle. UA Cargo is still showing 77Q

UA838 NRT-SFO was a 77Q on 16APR11. Up until the night before it was showing as a non-reconfigured bird... if I'd known I'd be on the reconfig I would have upgraded (L fare...). UA804 on the same day was an old-config.

The cabin felt pretty nice and fresh/spacious in Y.

Are the new configured 777s mainly for Asia or LHR? I'm flying ORD-FRA in F in June (everything else is LH) & right now it's showing old 777. I'm assuming it will stay that way, but wasn't sure if there were specific routes.

Cheers.

The 77Q has also been doing a few runs on IAD-FRA.

The rotations on which these ten frames are used have gotten really complicated, and now include IAD, DXB, KWI/BAH, LHR, SFO, LAX, NRT, PEK, HNL, DEN, ORD, and GRU -- with lots of exceptions, and occasional visits to SEA, PVG, TPE, FRA etc. The reconfigured planes are mixed in with unconverted XIs and XPs in most of these chains; no single route is assigned 77Qs exclusively.

To see the patterns -- and there are some -- go to http://www.flightaware.com. At the upper left part of the home page, select the box titled "Private Flight Tracker: Flight/Tail Number", and enter the reg of any of the XQ birds (you can get the regs from the Wiki). Surf the last month or so for any individual reconfigured 772 and you'll see what I mean.

It must drive the passenger service people nuts.

I was suppose to be on the new config this morning on 894 DEN-LAX though sometime last night it switched to an old config 3-class .

I don't know exactly what happened because what I believed the in bound flight to be was the last LAX-DEN the night before and that was a 77Q on the cargo website though the plane that they used instead came in from ORD as UA9804 (which was scheduled to not arrive until after we were originally suppose to depart) which is obviously not the regularly scheduled flight.

Nice surprise. In E+ from SFO to LHR. Just switched to old config which is more comfortable and I have managed to get row 17. 
