The rotations on which these ten frames are used have gotten really complicated, and now include IAD, DXB, KWI/BAH, LHR, SFO, LAX, NRT, PEK, HNL, DEN, ORD, and GRU -- with lots of exceptions, and occasional visits to SEA, PVG, TPE, FRA etc. The reconfigured planes are mixed in with unconverted XIs and XPs in most of these chains; no single route is assigned 77Qs exclusively.
To see the patterns -- and there are some -- go to
http://www.flightaware.com. At the upper left part of the home page, select the box titled "Private Flight Tracker: Flight/Tail Number", and enter the reg of any of the XQ birds (you can get the regs from the Wiki). Surf the last month or so for any individual reconfigured 772 and you'll see what I mean.
It must drive the passenger service people nuts.
