No E Plus seating on Codeshare?
I am 1P, flying UA 958 ORD to LHR next month (connecting to FNA in Africa). My ticket is bmi showing codeshare BD4478. Neither my travel agent nor me online are able to book E+ seating. Will I have better luck calling 1P help line? Any suggestions?

In the worst case you can get E+ at the gate if available.

I had a same thing on a US-coded UA flight.
Took 3 calls, but got E+ seat in the end. First two agents were offering me middle seats of last two rows of B752 on an overnight transcon.

If you book a codeshare, you always have to call to get E+ (CO codeshares being the exception now, perhaps). Seatmaps won't show up on .bomb, and other carriers don't have access to the E+ cabin, as far as I am aware.

Same goes for booking a flight with a UA flight nbr on another carrier's metal.
With US, some agents will change the seat to the preferred section or exit row (they don't have a longer-legroom E+ spacing); others won't. If I get one that won't, siting that there is no such rule, I just hang up and try again.
With AC, I've never been successful. They only take care of their own.
