Geniuses
Apparently BIS miles mean nothing anymore either (as I read it). So absolutely no incentive to fly UA metal, rather just credit to it. Poor business strategy IMHO.

So I think next year will be a 75k year for me... I guess I benefit from that?

How exactly are these changes supposed to benefit us?
:td::td::td::td::td: * Instead of 8 CR-1s for flying 100K EQM, now we'll get 4 for the same amount of travel. * True, we can earn "unlimited" CR-1s by flying more...so that means to get the 8 we've gotten up to now, I need to fly 150K EQM? * 120 Segments to qualify for 1K vs 100. How is this a "benefit"? Unfortunately, this turned out to be true. Yet many of you cheered for the merger, and said that I worry too much. People, wake up. At least I have warned this board. |

Are you serious??? I already sit on the plane for 100+ flights while other individuals can take 5 - 8 International trips and be a 1K????
Why do I that take 4 flights a week get penalized? How do I not get status? This could be a MAJOR dealbreaker!!! :td::td::td::td::td::td::td::td::td: This really hurts. Even more than all those hours on CR2s. |
I'm not heartened by the fact that there is absolutely no mention of E+ in this...

American Airlines: Now is your time to offer Executive Platinum match to 1Ks @:-)

Now MP/Onepass is a 4 tier system +GS. The 1P Platinum tier...
the 1K @ 120 EQS doesn't affect me, and quite frankly, as long as you're qualifying on segments you probably will be fine upgrade wise as 1P Platinum. The CR-1 change is a serious problem. If its for every 25k EQM earned while 1P Plat or 1K then its fine, but as written, its 75k 100k, 125k ... which of course makes it hard to earn them in jan-april. |
If the new "United" thinks 2 > 8 we are in big trouble. There is nothing on that page that is a benefit. Absolutely horrible.

"Updates to the Mileage Plus program and how they may benefit you." Imagine this is beneficial to a handful of people only... |

I have already qualified for 1K for 2011 and do not plan to fly a lot next year. With the changes that were just announced, does that mean i would need to fly 75k miles before I earn anymore CR-1s in 2011?

I am guessing that there are going to be a whole lot of UA 1KMM's who are going to give a HARD, HARD look at the dAArkside. Bad bad move, UA. :td: :td: :td: Dave |

interesting - i read the CO announcement on ft. it makes it sound like the 3 tiers will be 25/50/75k. 1k status is gone, but there will be some additional note that we are a 100,000 flier with 75k status which gives us an improved priroirty for upgrades versus just a 75k'er. and of course ability to earn swu's.
when you read the ua site announcement, it frames it differently, though the end result is the same. i think ua did a decent job aligning the 2 programs by changing/keeping terminology etc - creative imho i do still see the downside for 100k fliers in that they just lost 4 CR1's - though it won't matter to me next year as i'll hit 150k, i do see this as a long term devaluation. i sent a letter to 1k voice already expressing my displeasure. and what happened to rollover eqm??? |
