My e500's credited today.
Mrs. Cap'n Adventure (also a 1P) did not get the credit. Both of us were grandfathered in, and had received credit for expired e500's in the past. I called MP Customer Service, and they explained that the grandfathering promotion expired if your status ever dropped below 1P after registration. Unfortunately, Mrs. Cap'n Adventure dropped to 2P for part of last year, so 8000 miles were lost. :( |

Cool, I got 7000 miles - I can't believe I had 14 e-500s left! By the way, I just noticed that I past 500k lifetime miles after my last flight.:cool::cool:

I'm really curious how the few that claimed not to be grandfather but got the conversion ended up with it?

I am a 2P newbie and had just earned my first 4 e500 certs two weeks ago, but checked today and saw I got 2k in RDMs! I wasn't in the grandfathered program either!^

I see 10,000 miles added to my account. I don't recall signing up for anything though.

United has odd ways in dealing with situations. So, I was grandfathered in too, however only for a few thousand miles. Anywho, I did not see mine convert & post, so I emailed 1k voice, and the next thing you know; I receive a Customer Appreciation email which allows me to choose one of 3 items. I chose 9000 miles.
What a nice nice surprise, because that far exceeds the miles I would have received from the conversion. ^ |
6,000 miles posted for 12 unused E500's. I was not grandfathered so perhaps UA cut 1Ks or 2MMs some slack...

nothing and nothing
no grandfathering, no miles.

All of us at United and Mileage Plus appreciate your business. The replaced 500-mile e-upgrades will not be converted to miles in your account. We did not offer a promotion to convert the 500-mile e-upgrades with miles upon the release of the Unlimited Upgrade program. I appreciate you taking the time to contact me. :( |

This is a new low...I will never fly UA again...or at least not today ;-). G |
UA awarded me 6 SWU and 48,000 RDMs for my 48 expiring e500s. I was not grandfathered, but, they sent me a nice email saying "In appreciation of your ongoing loyalty.. blah.. blah,..... 6 SWU, 48kRDMs... blah, blah... plus we're pleased to provide you with a complimentary RCC membership for one year." Not bad huh, but unfortunately not true either.

Confused
Well I got all of 2000m for 4 presumably - I must have done a darn good job of burning them up I guess thanks to my daughter taggin along too much.
But my wife and son are both 1Ks. I don't recall what they had but they have all gone up in smoke with no miles in there. I seem to recall I applied some years ago to have them convert but they only became 1ks recently. Does that mean tough luck for them?? American keep them for you while you are Exec Platinum and you can use them again when you drop for many years in my case. Tks for any insight. |
