Use my CO status for upgrade earn miles on UA.
I bought a ticket on UA but the outbound it's involving a CO segments with UA 4 digit flight number, how do I request a complimentary upgrade using my CO Platinum but earn miles on UA?

Look to see if the reservation shows up on CO.com. Leave it alone until CO runs the upgrades. Once the upgrade goes through, change your FF number to UA. Works all the time.
