Travel Bags (Amenity Kits) in E+

I was on flight 944 ORD-FRA on Dec 1 and they had the travel bags you normally get in C in E+ (socks, eye cover, tooth brush, tooth paste, etc). The bags in C looked new (with a zipper). Are they going to start giving these out to E+ now or will it stop when they get rid of the old style bags.

"Travel bags" otherwise known as amenity kits.

I'm curious of the answer...

I wish UA started giving kits away in E+ , I had my fair share of kits from my honeymoon with the kits in Y from QF & SQ! Although none on long-haul LH & NZ.

kits in E+ would make it seem more of a premium economy ala AirNZ or SAS

My guess is they were clearing out the old models before introducing the kits with new products...

IIRC, some versions of the post-flight surveys UA has done ask about whether or not amenity kits were expected, their quality, etc., even for Y travel. Maybe they had a bunch of feedback on this.

Thnity kits were slted to start on 12/1, so as another poster mentioned, I'm sure the kits in E+ were just a purge of existing/old kits.

Those in SQ hardly called a "kit", it is a pair of socks with toothbrush/paste in a clear ziplog bag.

If you talked about CX and QF then it is a different story, as the bag can defiantely reuse.

It would be nice if UA started handing these out in E+. Virgin Atlantic hands out amenities kits (pronounced in the British way, of course: ameeeenities) even in basic economy. It's a nice touch.

It may well be a nice touch but I doubt anyone would be prepared to pay even $1 more for a ticket because UA hands out amenity kits. If they cost UA $2 per kit (say), then it would seem to be a folly to hand them out.

I received a toothbrush, toothpaste, and earplugs, and bottle of water in NZ Y (all Star Gold passengers did) from HKG-LHR.

As 12/1 Econ + has amenity kits. F & C also have a new amenity kits. You'll just have to hope the Econ - pax don't swipe yours when passing your great Econ + seat

I think it's a nice touch now if they would incl a pen like VS it would make my day.

Wow, now I need to choose for my next 747 flights...keep the exit row aisle seat I have technically considered regular Y, or switch to an E+ seat with the allure of an amenity kit. Decisions, decisions!

Agree. It is a nice touch. Too bad UA's pockets are so shallow.
