Probably updated in many other places too.
You're right, they did a good job of updating the site in most places to include J with C and D. The upgrade charts themselves are still showing upgrades only from C and D (and also Z, post 1/11/10) but not J. I suppose that will change.

Just saw a flight with C4, J6, so it's not a certainty that J avail = C avail

I believe that's a domestic flight with a flight number from a continuing international flight (usually in the 800's and 900's), or a p.s. flight.

Would that be New Jersey class and eXpressJet class?

UA can track where people go on their website quite easily if they choose to do so.

Web tools are available that if they of a mind too, they could determine how many people check the award tool and then buy an upgradable ticket.

i believe Y and F are the only two standard industrywide. Maybe B is too, dunno.

What I was told

Last week I was talking to the GS desk and they mentioned (unsolicited) that UA is bringing in the J code for biz in order to bring things in line with CO.

Even worse NJ (busines) would be superior to NY (economy). As New Yorker by birth I cannot condone this.

It's probably being changed for the new AC-CO-LH-UA joint venture. J, C, D, Z will be the same between all four airlines
