Earning UA MileagePlus Status in 2024 for 2025; JumpStart posted
Has anyone seen the PQP starter bonus (based on 2023 status) hit their accounts yet? I recall other years, UA was a little faster than this?
Or am I getting impatient in my old age

it definitely takes a while. I remember last year people were factoring the starter bonus in their decision on whether or not to take up UA on a status buy up offer, so likely won’t come until after Feb 1

We’re giving current Premier members a head start in 2024 with automatic PQP deposits. All members with full Premier status on February 1, 2024, will get extra PQP added to their account. The number of PQP is based on status level.
2022 it was Feb 10
2021 it was 7 Jan
I suspected the first week in Feb will be the likely time-frame
The Jumpstart bonus for 2024 are 250,500,750 and 1250. That must be something else

Be patient. Have a whole year remaining
I had just realized my first 10 segments with UA in the first 13 days of the year are all different (origin/destinations):
EWR-LAX
LAX-SFO
SFO-EWR
EWR-BNA
BNA-SFO
SFO-MRY
MRY-SFO
SFO-LAX
LAX-EWR
EWR-SFO
And on the 11th flight, SFO-JFK (with someone other than UA, duh!)

That’s not a starter bonus — that’s your first 75 PQP of Club card earning, equivalent to $1500 in 2024 spending. The starter bonus will be posted in early February.

My mistake, it was actually card PQP. I didnt drill into the detail on my statement - and it wasnt until I did, that I realized I posted in haste. Apologies!

My 2024 projections suggest that I will be just a few segments away from 2025 Platinum status. Looking at 12k PQPs and 32 PQFs with my booked and likely trips. Time to start finding connections rather than non-stops or add something fun as a PQF version of an MR.
My remaining FPQPs are not enough to get to 15K PQPs. Since the marginal cost of getting to Platinum over Gold is negligible because I can plan it out in advance, I look forward to making it work.
That said I am mindful of John Lennon's admonition that life is what happens to you while you are making other plans.

My 2024 projections have me reach the $24k goal in June, much later than last year. Probably only $40k for the year, but still a bit fuzzy in terms of 2H travel; definitely less than the $70k in 2023.
