Having now had the chance to fly on the 321neo in First and E+, it's been an overall positive experience but with a couple annoying quirks:
- First: The underseat storage is very shallow (vertically) - I had to remove things from my backpack and store them in the seat pocket for my backpack to fit
- Economy: The seatbacks are not particularly sturdy and I've had the pleasure of sitting in front of people who like to smash the touchscreen, which jostles the seat. Quite annoying when trying to sleep (or just in general). Maybe it's an unlucky coincidence with fellow passengers, but the one common thread of flying on the 321neo is that every flight I've turned around to ask the person behind me to please tap the screen gently

Alright...so just booked our first trips on the 321neo (SFO-ORD, and then also DEN-SFO) and wondering about Y seats. I know most aircraft have a summary in the wiki for best places to sit in each cabin, but don't see it here, and sorry if I missed it somewhere in the middle of the thread.
What are the best regular Y seats? Currently, we're in 15 on one flight, 14 on the other. So this is in the front section of preferred seats (we're silver, so don't have free access to E+). I know 16 doesn't have recline (right in front of exit row), so obviously avoiding that. But wondering if there are other regular Y rows I should be looking at.
As for E+, hoping to be able to snag those at T-24....are there any differences between the E+ sections - either the front set vs. back set in general, or particularly, those few rows in the back section that are E+ on DEF side and regular Y on ABC? I'm actually a bit confused about how that works in practice, given it's seemingly an equal number of rows, and seems to be the same amount of space. Or am I missing something.
Also, since the 10- and 7-yo will be with us, I'm sure they're excited about the self-serve snack area. I know they touted it when they started flying, but wanted to confirm they are using these on these types of domestic flights.

Such low underseat clearance!
I flew the 321Neo for the first time a few months ago in J, and while the rest of the experience was positive, I still find it really odd, and irksome frankly, that the underseat storage is SO shallow vertically. I fly the E-175 frequently and my Euro-sized and not-overstuffed backpack fits perfectly but on the Neo it had to go in the overhead. I talked with the FA about it and she too was surprised the first time she was a passenger and had to stow hers in the overhead.

Flew it for the first time in 21F. Beautiful aircraft. Interior is great. First time in I don’t know when that I’ve seen the OBs take a full plane of carryons and still have space.
Didn’t use the lav and backpack fit fine under the seat in front (I know it’s only an F issue).

Had a GS friend flying in F a couple of times. In his experience it is not even possible to stretch the feet completely due to the extremely tight underseat space.
He is very surprised about this very restricting design and avoids booking F on the A321new going forward.

Given similar price on a particular route, any particular preference to flying on the A321 vs older 738, 739, or even E175. Looking at a 3 hr domestic leg wondering what to choose.

I like 8A/8C in economy, BUT the bathroom is right there so it's not for everyone. Similar story for 7D/7F. The exit rows are good too (rows 20-21) as I generally don't recline on domestic flights. After, that I would take an aisle in 9 or 10 (or 12 if E+ is not an option).

also, you are guaranteed the seatback entertainment/bluetooth connectivity, and while more common on the 739/7M9, only these (and 7M8?) are guaranteed to get that.

I wonder why UA chose to skip row #s 13, 17-19, and 33. DL has all the row #s from 10-39 on the right side and 12-39 on the left side.

UA makes certain efforts to make all the fleets similar. Narrow bodies, for example, UA starts Y at row 7, even through the biggest F cabin on the narrow bodies only goes to row 5. 13 is missing becausewell, the superstition thing. UA also skips additional rows on narrow bodies to have the mid-cabin exit rows as 20 and 21.
it is what it is.
