United doesn’t impose taxes to LHR, they impose taxes on flights from LHR. That’s because the UK has its high APD.

It's not listed as a "deal" per se. It's under the heading "50,000 miles roundtrip*" heading, which is just beneath the "For your trip" header.

Alternatively, I just clicked on the link in the e-mail that I received from United this morning.

You mean over easter when a number of schools have break and demand for travel is increased.... Sometimes I wish United was that stupid.

That's exactly what I mean.

Seriously, I have a wife and two kids with two weeks off starting on March 16th. I would jump at this if it made it easier for us to travel during this period.

If there weren't a lot of availability, there might not have been a promotion

Demand is generally weak in Q1.

LHR is also very much saturated as a destination (from the US, specifically).

UA will sell out in that time without a sale, no reason to offer a sale.

Oh, I'm well aware of that. No, I'm just following the time-honored FT tradition of hoping for things from the airlines that we know will never come to pass. A return to commercial air service at CIC anyone? 🤷🏽‍♂️
