So is that it? They changed the packaging and the blanket? No new meals? I was expecting to wake up today and see a huge UA launch, so a bit underwhelming if this is it.

Can report they served leftover prawns from Continental Airlines though....or so it seemed. The most dried up, tough prawns/shrimp I have ever had. Charlie Chaplin and a shoe come to mind.
Bedding is nice though. Baby steps...

My assumption is this will be a slow rollout, I heard bedding should start making its way in the coming days around the system, and a more substantial announcements from (what we believe) to be an upgraded meal service should come in early October.

Wasn't today the day for an announcement? Or just the cutover date for the new bedding?

The memo that Matthew references is this:
On September 20, we’re implementing Polaris 2.0, which features new amenity items and seat provisioning.
Which I guess I really should have realized that taken at its surface is just new bedding and amenity kits, so basically soft changes. The product launch on 03OCT sounds like when new service elements/seats/etc will be officially announced. Yet all the bloggers ran with it and made it seem like 20SEP was the big day.....sigh

Flying today with the new bedding. Overall seems roughly equivalent in terms of quality, same number of items, though they're a bit different. The little blue gel pillow has been replaced with a memory foam pillow, placed on top. The gray thin blanket is replaced by the blue blanket which is labelled as a limited edition Saks and Claude Kameni. The bag at the bottom contains a regular pillow, seems similar to the old one, and a blanket that feels a bit different but is comparable.

Yeah, doesn't seem to be the same, you are correct. Although on initial inspection it seems softer and therefore better, as far as I am concerned. Never liked the 'old' one much.
