Why does United not have CLEAR at LGA?

Given UA’s investments in CLEAR, why does United not have CLEAR in terminal B at LaGuardia?

I understand that American Airlines may not want CLEAR at its terminals, such as terminal B, but why doesn’t UA cause CLEAR to locate there?

Dunno, but I have never waited more than 2 minutes on the Pre line; most of the time there have been no waiting.

United is a pretty small player at LGA. Maybe CLEAR would benefit other major carriers at LGA moreso than UA pax.

I don't have a bone either way. I am not getting CLEAR.

No idea, but if ends up anything like the CLEAR lanes at EWR B lately then it doesn't matter.. Pre line is so much faster.

LGA Terminal B doesn't have clear because PANY doesn't want it, they built their own pay to play system to 'cut the line'.

Likely not a UA decision; airport restriction or too small of UA operations for CLEAR to justify costs.

You're right. One time I went there after Pre had closed, and when asked about Pre (forgot it was already closed, either 7pm or 730pm), was told I could pay $37 to skip the line.

That’s what I thought but:

- the Delta terminal at LGA has CLEAR
- plenty of small airports such as GSP have CLEAR
- AA hubs such as CLT, DFW and PHL don’t have CLEAR (except a non-AA terminal at DFW) and I read that AA is blocking CLEAR whenever AA can

I guess it all depends on who is paying to set up CLEAR line. DL has its own terminal at LGA, and given their investment in CLEAR, this makes sense.

Whereas for UA, it's a shared terminal at LGA. If UA were to put in a CLEAR lane, it can't restrict access to just UA passengers, but all other airlines as well.

This is the first time I've heard of this. Thanks for letting us know.

Umm, unless it's dynamically priced, the B-FAST program is $20, so I guess it includes the tip.
