Purchased about 3 months ago and upgraded as the door closed on a empty and 24 hour delayed flight. Sat at #1 on the list for 3 days and watched occupied F seats click up, I am assuming purchased upgrades and purchased F seats. In the last hour it looked like a GS and his family trumped me but apparently we had one no show so I got the last second bump up (per usual it seems).

GA came aboard and made me vacate 9D for 5E, thanks to a no-show.
No GSs pre-boarded. About 7-8 1Ks (or 1Ks and guests) pre-boarded. Not sure how I lucked out in that group w/ a K fare, but I took it. All the other 1Ks were in back. I was the only person approached early for 1st meal choice. FA then went front-to-back for everyone else. Definitely demonstrates the “WFBF” notion. Since I skipped the entree, I got my breakfast tray first, too
. Spread in LAS UC was pretty good, so wasn’t too hungry.
FA mentioned mid-flight there was space in the front cabin if I left a bag in back (I did). Went back to get it and lady in 9E had moved to 9D and was enjoying an empty middle seat. Sometimes an upgrade for one person (9D) can make 3 (9DEF) happy…

Applied Plus Points on 1/24 as it was clear I was not going to get upgraded and the upsell offer was outrageously high. ($711!) I was fourth of sixteen and jumped to the top when I applied plus points. First time I have ever done this, so I have 300 left. It cleared less than 12 minutes after I checked in at 24 hours prior to takeoff. Yeah, I know its only a two and half hour block time flight but I prefer the seats up front than those in the rear. Plus, its 1A and I have somewhat of a time constraint so getting off the plane immediately is perfect. Also, I just don't have anything internationally planned unless I can talk myself into IAD-SFO-PPT-SFO-IAD in September. Should have taken the upsell offer a few weeks ago of $149. Would have helped on the PQP side. I probably won't use Plus Points on the way back on 2/7 as E+ only has 8 seats occupied, notwithstanding the two E+ upfront that are blocked until 24 hours prior to departure, and 7 seats are available in F. Flight isn't even showing half full yet. I highly doubt that there are seven other 1Ks on my return seated in E+ who purchased higher than K fares for that flight. Upsell offer is $287.
