Got the hot towels on a IAD-IAH flight on Dec 1st but not IAH-SNA nor from LAX-IAD. Seems hit or miss right now.

I'm surprised no one else has posted a photo of this recent and momentous enhancement... my first UA hot towel in a couple of years (UA925 LHR-IAD)!

interesting picture in that I dont recall (from my limited experiences) that the hot towels had UA branding on them - I recall that they were just unbranded cloth (and very cheap at that)

They seemed the same as precovid to me on my SFO SIN trip. Got 2 towels. Same grid type cloth as before.

Exact same ones as I recall from before COVID. Perhaps you are thinking of AA's hot towels? The ones UA used were always significantly better than their domestic competitors.

Significantly better? I don't fly AA or DL in business so I can't comment but I can say that the towels I received at the end of 2022 were the exact same towels they used in 2018/2019. In other words, worn and ratty and tattered. I think UA put them in a closet for the pandemic and brought out the exact same old, nasty towels and just washed them before handing them out. I would have expected fresh new towels. My bad but this is United.

It's amazing how low UA flyers' threshold for excitement is. I'm offered (and decline) a hot towel on every AA meal flight.

BlooJoo - you are correct, the bar is low these days.....

like this:

Hot towels on SFO-IAD today. Surprised considering this is not a premium transcon.

They're passed out West Coast to Hawaii. Maybe every flight w/ a meal service over a certain time? Or every flight w/ a meal service?

Very inconsistent, as usual. I had them EWR to DEN, but not DEN to EWR.

I had them both directions IAH-LAS-IAH last week on 737s. It's a welcome return.
