Indeed, just regular cooked cod.

The cod was served with a starchy side though; there were potatoes.

Maybe because it's that the menu is a photocopied piece of paper? Not sure.
Wouldn't be surprised if that was done by the purser/in-flight manager themselves, probably even on their own dime & time.

I would totally forgive such a menu over none at all. Is it ideal? No, not really, but someone took initiative here to provide at least 'something'!

Keep dismissing the endless degradation of standards as "First world problems" and we'll soon find ourselves living in the third world.

I thought the description "Sashimi" was to indicate it was a boneless lengthwise cut

perhaps the creative chef is Scottish

UA Sashimi is the airborne equivalent of gas station sushi.

YMMV, but I was pleasantly surprised with it ex-MUC.

I had not seen the photo before, thank you for posting - in which case this is just baked cod with tomato sauce, so whoever decided to call it sashimi really needs some time off to spend in wikipedia. It's just ridiculous.

Yes, when given a choice of steak or fish, always choose the lasagna.

99% of people may not know these details, but I think a good percentage of people know that sashimi and "sushI" (at least when referring to fish) generally means raw. (and, yes, I too am aware that plenty of nigiri involving fish is typically served cooked.)
