There seems to have been some sort of change. Either on the Turkish or the United side.
I have an outstanding UA award flight from ORD to Africa that is a few months away. It was re-ticketed by UA a few months ago and that change went through and I was able to verify that UA 016 ticket numbers were changed in the TK PNR, on the TK website/mobile apps.
It was reticketd again in the last 24 hours and TK still shows the old ticket numbers, when I look it up on the TK mobile app. If I attempt to install the TK app on another mobile device and add/manage the PNR, it refuses to accept 016 ticket numbers.
My current plan is to let it alone for 24 - 36 hours (after saving screen shots and PDF prints of everything) and calling UA award reservations to see what's up if it doesn't straighten out. I am just posting here to share and to solicit any advice/counsel/etc.

The only changes were minor changes in flight times. Flight numbers and equipment stayed the same.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I will only get UA involved if I don't see TK updated on their side by the end of the week
Update:
It was re-ticketed again just a few minutes ago, same reason, a minor schedule change. I hope I don't lose the award flights. Why can't UA just accept the minor time changes and not re-ticket the entire PNR?

After signing up for Miles and Smiles I still cannot get seats
I signed up for Miles and Smiles and put in the PNR number to try to get seat assignments for the Turkish Airlines segments on a purchased United Around the World Business Class Fare with two tickets on one PNR. On both the APP and the website it asks for the ticket number beginning in 235 before I can select seats. I only have the United tickets numbers beginning in 016 and it will not let me enter them contrary to JimInOhio experience. I have called TA three times and United four times and no one can give me the 235 ticket number or help get me two seats assigned together. All other segments on various Star Alliance partners I was able to get seats. Any ideas?

There is no 235 ticket for an 016 issued ticket. There can be multiple PNRs but only one eticket.

Thanks WineCountryUA
WineCountryUA after I enter my PNR on the Manage Trip Section of the TA APP it asks for my ticket number and when I put in the 016 number it indicated it is invalid I.e. the ticket number and passenger surname do not match.

Seat assignments on TK flights on non-TK-issued tickets have long been a nightmare. You should just assume you won't be able to select them yourself. A call center agent should be able to assign them for you, but I've even encountered one or two untrained and/or unhelpful agents who couldn't/wouldn't do it.

Only hope is a) the app or website gets updated to accept non-235 ticket numbers or b) keep calling or chatting with TK to see if a savvier or more helpful agent can assign your seats.

There used to be a workaround to get seat assignments on Star Alliance flights by using the SAS web site, https://www.flysas.com/us-en/ . Not sure if that still works, but maybe give it a try?

TK broke a few weeks ago. Used to work on the app with 016 tickets - no longer. Calling seems to be the only option, hope they fix that.

I thought it was broken. We have an award flight coming up this September. I'm going to try the social media route and will report back in a day or so.

This is at least partially correct--not sure whether they have any Amadeus at all. Regardless, whatever system they use is extremely unfriendly and incompatible with other airline systems, including Amadeus and UA Shares.

I believe I saw it on a thread on the TK forum. If I can find it, I'll report the relevant parts here.
