787. If you want to have the option to chat with spouse en route choose adjacent seats in middle of aircraft. If not, go for window seats.

I will always go out of my way to fly an a350 or 787 longhaul over a 767/777. The higher pressure and humidity onboard make me feel so much better on arrival.

Oh ... and sustainability. Fuel burn is important, I guess, too.

Husband and I are traveling from AMS-PHX (home) in April 2022 (already decided on outbound flight PHX-ZRH). Which aircraft would be preferred for the trans-atlantic portion in Polaris (we have never traveled in Polaris before):
UA Flight 71- showing 787-10 (1-2-1 configuration, we would sit middle odd)
or
UA Flight 908- showing 767-300 (1-1-1 configuration, would most likely sit at windows one seat behind the other)

2-
Flight 71 connects via EWR with a connection time of 2 hours/24 minutes
Flight 908 connects via ORD with a connection time of 2 hours/ 55 minutes
We have never come through either EWR or ORD internationally. Is one easier to get through customs based on time allowed for connection?

Thank you in advance.
deb
If it was me, I'd pick the ORD connection as the final flight (not on a lie-flat) will be shorter. Both airports are easy and quick for immigration and connections. It probably doesn't matter but there's likely to be a later available departure from ORD just in case things go sideways that day.

Don't bet on the *A Lounge in AMS. I was underwhelmed when I was at AMS *A Lounge the only time years ago. Maybe there have been changes since. UA Polaris Lounges are much nicer and have real food.

Id take the 767. Longer flight in the good seat, and I like to look out of the window. I hate 787 windows.

Note that some of the international flights into EWR land in terminal B. Then for domestic, you might have to travel to terminal C. You might want to take this into consideration

Note also that on the 787 with Polaris herringbone configuration, while the odd middle pairs have a large retractable panel between the two seats and you are sitting parallel, the even middle pairs do have a smaller retractable panel between the two seats so you can still see each other and talk easily, despite being catty corner rather than parallel.
