Why can’t I pay (cash) to upgrade an award ticket?
I booked a award ticket from Ord-lhr in August. The ticket is connecting in ewr there was Polaris avalibiliy on the long leg but no saver availability on the Ord-ewr. I want to pay cash to upgrade but now it won’t let me pay to upgrade and it says this reservation is not available to upgrade. Anyone know why this is?

Cash upgrades to award tickets generally are only available at check-in and not in advance
But you should waitlist for accommodation for saver first space -- no extra cost
