Yesterdays 751 (1600 EWR departure to LAX) and 1882 (2115 LAX departure to EWR) were flown by a 77W. These flights are normally flown by 78Js. It is possible, however, that this was intentional due to a heavy passenger count. 751 had only 16 empty seats and 1882 was a full house.

Did we have similar threads for 788s and 789s? I guess that 787-10 may not be as well built as its siblings.

Oh yes. I remember the teething problems when the 788 was brand new. I was on many delayed IAH-LHR flights.

Status of United's 787 Fleet
787-x reliability? - delays / cancellations

As were/will be a substantial number of 787-9s.

Correlation is not causation and I don’t think there’s a concern about a high incidence of maintenance problems on the 787-10 fleet. To a lay person, it defies logic (“a brand new car shouldn’t have problems so soon”) but in the airline world, new fleets/airplanes ordinarily have reliability issues shortly after service entry.

We need a master list of these somewhere . . .

I was notified via text this morning that today's Flight 1882 from LAX-EWR at 9:15pm has been swapped from a 781 to the horrible 772. I'm thankful that I am not in Business this time as that is a real downgrade from 1-2-1 to 2-4-2 seating, not to mention the 16 people who will be bumped from that cabin. I'm disappointed about not having the Premium Plus seat I had booked but what can you do?

I've been basing my flying schedule between EWR and LAX on when the 781 flies and have several future scheduled flights on it. Hope I am luckier in the future.

I'll take an IPTE seat and/or GG OVS DOWNGRADE any day over getting swapped from PE into 77G Y.

I'm not sure what all your acronyms mean but I got the first row in E+ at the window. For a 5-hour flight I don't think it will be too horrible.
