Thatt"s a good point.
Maybe the new delivery would equal an STC and UA is waiting to save the extra STC cost.
I guess we'll see when N29968 exits.

That's disappointing. I'd have thought they would keep those four ships flying international routes for now (even as 2-4-2 J) to allow more Polaris/P+ mods to take place. There are still 2 pmUA and 11 pmCO 772s waiting for Polaris/P+ mods, and now one mod line is taken up for an HD.

I'd agree in concept with your hope that the remaining Polaris conversions continue, but the 77A conversions are done in HKG vs. XMN and a replacement unit for N795UA will head there soon - possible after 77W N2749U enters service in a couple weeks. Also, with another 77W in January and 2 78Xs in Dec, UA may be able to increase 787 and/or 772 mod lines. Getting the 77A HD line going now should have all units in the air by Summer - they will be replaced on international flights by new 787s and 77Ws.

Are we expecting the same seatmap as the current HD 777 fleet, or might we see them add P+ for domestic/Hawaii service?

When the 788 and 789s go into retrofit for Polaris, where are those (fairly new) seats going? Are they the same footprint as the ones on the 757?

I ask because I'm getting quite sick of the condition of the old Diamond seats on the 757, and was hoping the Dreamliner seats would be a direct swap when the 757's are refreshed

Discussions on other threads have shown the 772ER HD fleet will have a slightly different seat arrangement due to the lavs behind Door 2 instead of in front of Door 2. Rumer is that 4 aded F seats will be added, there will be a galley adjustment and some small number of Y seats will be lost.

Re Diamond seats, I don;'t think they are exact replacements between 787 and 757. Amenities shows the 757 with a 2 inch shorter sleeping length vs. the 787. Maybe the covers can be swapped.

I feel like the Diamond seats on the 787 are also narrower than the ones on the 752, 767 or 772. I could be wrong, though - just my perception.
