Tips are not expected in Polaris lounges, but employees are allowed to accept them.

sitting in the ORD lounge now - not having the dining experience.... and for some strange reason, not in the mood for alcohol (only 2pm)...just some coffee and light snacks
the staff here are super friendly - keeping the place clean, working their tails off, etc...... I have heard leaving positive comments help... but not much more than a "strong work"

Had such good service in SFO restaurant I tipped $5. Not much, but just a small token of gratitude for above and beyond service. I don’t plan to make a habit out of it and would prefer to shame UA if its contractors are not paying wait staff a living wage.

$2 bills are good for tips, if you want the staff to remember you.

Not at any Polaris Lounge, but I had a Bar Tender at an OTC Concepts Bar @EWR ask me if the $2 I left for him was real currency.
I said yes, it is just not common and he said that in his 22 years of life he had never seen one, heard of one and always wondered why it went from $1s to $5s.

I use twos all the time and have done so for years. A while back, when I was commuting on the PA turnpike the toll was always $1.95. The toll taker at one exit point recognized me and my car after a while and he finally asked me whether I was always coming from the nearby hrse track.
