Probably, but I think UA taking over more of T2 was a big part of the interim plan. If they took over more gates in T2 and maybe put in a UA Club there, that would certainly make up for any construction. Let's face it, T3 is perfectly functional but way out of date, especially compared to T3-E, T2, or the new T1.

Is T2 connected to T3 airside?

Yes, it is now. :tu:

UA even has some D-gate flights.

As of a few months ago, yes. They opened up a connector corridor. It's about a 10-minute walk from T3-E to T2, and there's not a lot in it other than some nice windows of the apron, but it is now possible to walk airside between the two terminals.

If that's the case, it wouldn't be so bad to start renovating T3. I read the SF Gate article and I'm under the impression that the plan is to have a flagship UC there. SFO should make it happen because air travel volume will recover. This ain't Sweden. Americans love to fly and go to places.

The T2-T3 airside connector opened late November 2021. It's maybe 10 minutes if you stop to look at the art collection on the walls, or if you walk really slowly :p

Once AS moves to T1, I imagine their club space in D will be up for grabs...

Why do you say that?

Even prior to Covid, the large majority of travels are short-haul. People in general can shower at home or in their hotel rooms.

I love SFO T3-F/G. Leave it be. Don’t EWR it.

A few showers would be nice but not at expense of the rest of the UC footprint

Are you sure? Pre covid rpms in pacific were almost 9 billion per quarter. Domestic rpms were around 34 rpms split among the hubs. With sfo handling most of the tpacs that is a fairly even to majority intl split in sfo depending how Domestic now flows. That doesn't count non ua long haul.

Along these lines, UA maintained an arrivals lounge at SFO just to serve the TPAC morning arrivals.

I think I read that it's already closed. Will it ever reopen?

IME the Polaris lounge serves its purpose in that regard for the UA flyer in J. Plus you can catch a shower on the outbound as well (which is nice coming off a tcon) which was not the case with the arrivals lounge/UC/RCC.

Except for passengers terminating at SFO. They cannot access to PL, but certainly to the arrival lounge.

Unlikley, it closed pre-COVID (and was only for UA business class) and believe the space has been re-purposed. It was a nice little haven but it was not heavily used.

You asked all these questions before -- the closure and terminal changes are discussed in more detailed in https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unit...l#post32924460
