Is on-line upgrading broken?

This is the second time in a couple of weeks that I'e tried to apply a GPU or RPU to an existing reservation online and found the process broken.

Has anyone else encountered difficulties in applying upgrade instruments online? Is there a work-around, other than calling in?

Yep, broken for me too. Calling works, but agents tend to screw up the rules if youre doing anything complicated.

Workaround for me has been to apply upgrades during the booking process.

I applied one GPU about 2 weeks ago, and 4 other GPUs and two RPU's within the few weeks before that. Some of those had space available, others did not and were waitlisted.

All were done online after booking (tickets booked via our corporate TA), and without issue.

It's YMMV. I've applied GPUs and RPUs successfully within the past weeks, including RPUs last week.

I had something like this happen to me a few months ago. I couldn't apply RPUs or GPUs on-line even when there was availability. I had to call in the get the instruments applied. At the suggestion of a CSR, I was forwarded to web support. They told me they would look into it, and I haven't had any issues since. Next time it happens and you call to apply the instrument, ask to be transferred to web support (after getting the instrument applied, of course).

I've not had problems applying upgrades, but I consistently have issues with RPU's when they don't clear before check-in. 9 out of 10 times I don't get placed on the upgrade list, I have to call in, they tell me it's a known issue, and I get added, but at the bottom of the list (with one exception where an agent said she performed some sort of override to put me in my rightful position).

no issues at all applying RPUs. I am doing this weekly now since I am giving them away to co-workers ... still 14 left for the year and no plans on using them.

I always get kicked out with a server error at the end. But when logging back in and checking the upgrades stick.

Looks like I'll have to go the web tech support route as it's still not working for me. Just to be clear, the part that's broken is applying GPU and RPU. The web site is perfectly happy to charge my credit card for an upgrade!
