Boeing 767-300 Version 2 (30/184) - Polaris non-HD
30 Polaris 46 E+ 138 E-

AeroLOPA view: https://www.aerolopa.com/ua-boeing-76a

AVOID Polaris:
7A, 7L does not have a window.

Recommended E+ seats:
21DEF (middle seats) have extra legroom as an emergency crossover row. Note that 21AB and KL have limited recline.
22AB and KL have extra legroom but may be cold.
40AB, 41AB are crew-rest seats. If available (usually T-24), they have a footrest and extra recline.

We are flying ORD-LHR on Sept 19 and I am very cautiously optimistic. I would love to try out the new Polaris J seats.
I really don't care if I can't sit with my husband, I will see him plenty on our 2 week trip, I don't need to see him on the plane also.We will be mostly sleeping anyway.

If two people are traveling together in this configuration, what would be the best pair of seats to enable some conversation? Odd-row F & L?

Im booking both flights onto the 763 3-class bird. An earlier post mentioned that there are only 14 3-class 763's. I guess I will hold my breath and see if I get lucky!!

When UA starts converting more 763s don't be surprised if they start flying them interchangeably with the 2 class birds and not sell a first class.

Pilot's rest is in the last J-row of the multiple TATL 764s I have been on.

.
I go by the repeating pattern.

UA 777 Polaris has a repeating pattern of 2-4-2. UA's Polaris shifts the aisle seats back and then angles them. They loose a little (maybe a half row of pitch) at the beginning, but once the rows start the density is the same as the 2-4-2. With aisle shift back and angle you loose leg width - with a narrow cubby hole to put your feed. UN's current 2-4-2 on the 777 has open leg room.

By contrast, AA's 777-300 is a true 1-2-1 as that is the pattern that repeats every row. The leg room is the full width - with a very short cubby hole area. Much more spacious.

UA is a clever design, but at the end of the day the roominess is determined by the density of number of seats per square meter.

I'd say the seats are staggered like the Thompson Vantage J seats, except the seats are angled. I haven't heard anyone use 2-2-2 to describe a 767 with Thompson Vantage seats. I will avoid commenting about the roominess until I actually fly in one of those seats.

The AMR 77W J Zodiac seats are indeed nice. But they are also short and I can't lie flat - 6'2" 215lbs here. I actually could in an center/window Polaris 77W seat, but not the other angled seats.

I will say Polaris seats feel a little claustrophobic, where as AMR 77W J doesn't.

None of them come close to the space in AMR 77W F or UAL IPTE F suites.

Is UA going to reconfigure the remaining 2 class 767s (incl 764s) to Polaris?
