SAUA worked for LX, but possibly LH group working just fine and everything else is down? Glad I am not trying for NH right now - hope this gets fixed soon

Seems like the issue is at least partially resolved - so that's good news! I was able to waitlist using a Plus Points upgrade.

Question:
1. Do Plus Point upgrades have a different priority than *A upgrades using miles?
2. Can you/should you waitlist via both means?

Thanks!

I am still seeing the error for NH upgrades:

Please contact the source where you booked the ticket.

Did you do anything differently or did it just start working for you?

They have the same priority. You cannot WL twice

The PP worked; the *A did not. Try PP maybe? It first gave me a duplication error but when I put in the ticket number from UA it worked.

Waitlisted for SFO-NRT in 3 weeks, currently F5A5. Fingers crossed!

I am trying PP and the ticket is in Z class booked with ANA directly (so not as much of an issue). Has worked in the past but not this time for some reason. Seeing a variety of errors over the last few days. Tried 008 vs 8 and putting the ticket number in and not (205xxxx)

Tried a *A upgrade award instead and got this error:

The flight segment you are trying to upgrade has not been ticketed.

Please contact the airline that booked your ticket.
ANA shows the status as ticketed. Maybe it is time to call ANA.

You don't need ETKT #s at all. I'd leave out what is not needed - more options for errors.

Does anyone know what that priority is? At what point does ANA clear the 'waitlist ' and in what order of priority? Are people waiting with UA instruments same as those waiting with NH or other Star alliance instruments?

NH clears the waitlist at all sorts of time. 72 hrs prior is a common time for them to clear the WL. Within 24 hours there are very little reports of success.

Is there a known order of priority like UA has?

The NH waitlist is back to normal. UA finally fix it partially! I'm glad to see that.

I called ANA and they said UA had to whatever was needed as the reservation was ticketed. They did say there was no upgrade space available though. I suspect the error is not being handled properly by UA when they try to confirm the upgrade. Will try again in a few weeks. Thanks to all those that responded.

Still confusing as to the problem. You are not on any kind of United waitlist. You need to be on ANA’s waitlist - a request made through United. Hopefully it eventually works out…

Actually it is an NH ticket and not a UA ticket. So, nothing for UA to do, right? other than request the upgrade?

correct. All you should need to do is to enter the date, flight #, route and pax name in the form and hit ‘submit’
