I looked at the IAH-MUC for a few weeks and loads look terrible. C and Y alike. Not sure why they don't put this on a 763 at least. Nice flight and I have taken it a few times, but I am concerned it will stay around.
Might book it again for my September MUC trips.

It's wintertime...what time of year are you looking at? If it's around this time, I feel like US-EU loads always tend to be relatively light but will fill up closer to departure (especially in J).

It's a 763 for my trip on UA102 in late May.

And I've got 18AB

IAH-AMS last week was maybe 20% full in Y and 35% full in C. ~15 NRSAs in upgraded to the still not full front cabin, including a number of pretty young and loud folks. Service director on this flight was absolutely outstanding but definitely was not thrilled with the behavior of the.... company.

But from the other post, it sounds more like non revs on that particular flight.

Curious what is the typical upgrade rate IAH-XXX (Anywhere in Europe)?
Let's say T-72 as it's close to departure.

Usually I fly LH going to Europe instead of UA.

Not oil people. If you are flying for business and business disappears, you don't just go ahead and fly for the heck of it.

Decent load in BF on my IAH-AMS (and back) work flights coming up, and still a few weeks out, would anticipate it being pretty full.

There is no reason to use a 777 on IAH-AMS. That should be a 767. Other than that, I think they don't need to cut any IAH-Europe capacity.

True, and very similar to how the airlines eliminated point-to-point routes and doubled down on their hubs during the last downturn. Many industries do that.

In addition to the slowdown of oil traffic, UA has started matching some of Spirit's super low fares. That has likely impacted yields from IAH significantly.

Good news for me iis that I am flying routes not served by Spirit and they are getting bigger planes as capacity is moved around. Yeah.

WN's seat growth matches UA's seat decline:
