UA835 ORD PVG delayed almost 8hrs for maintenance. Of course my client is on that flight, so if anyone else from FT is on the flight and can update me on status from the ground, it would be appreciated, my client is unable to communicate any status updates properly.

however... UA836 10/21 PVG-ORD 744 returned to gate and cancelled due to required crew rest (they tried to use the frame from SFO but looks like that one's broken too)
also
UA851 10/21 ORD-PEK 744 delayed 5h due to aircraft maintenance (originally scheduled N175UA broke so they're using N119UA which got in from PVG at 3.45pm)
UA934 10/21 EWR-LHR 763 delayed 9h25 due to aircraft maintenance (and presumably LHR curfew; the day flight becomes a redeye again!)
744 reliability looks pretty awful again...

OCT 21 SFO-LHR & returning OCT 22 LHR-SFO long delays
UA 900 (LHR-SFO) OCT 23 is 5:50 hours late because
UA 901 (SFO-LHR) OT 21 is en route and scheduled to land 7:48 hours late
A trickle down of late-arriving flights that UA seems unable to correct. At this rate (short a complete cancellation), this flight will run late for another 3 flights (2 days)!!

A United Airlines flight from Northern Ireland to New York has made an emergency diversion to Shannon Airport.

A spokeswoman for Shannon Airport said flight UA-76 to Newark had declared an emergency but landed safely just before 2.30pm.
Passengers on the plane were told there was an issue with the Boeing 757's landing gear.

Unbelievable. On top of that, my client's seat IFE audio was not functioning, so we will be asking for significant compensation between the delay and inoperable IFE. If United ever wants to see this frequent paid business traveler anywhere near its planes again, I will expect to see a big compensation offer.

Actually the plane (N14118) made it in fine from IAD, they're just ferrying it empty to SNN to operate today's UA24 SNN-EWR, and using the 752 inbound from EWR for the extra sector UA2111 SNN-EWR for the stranded passengers from the BFS flight.

The typhoon will be way clear of HKG Saturday so it shouldn't be a problem (also somehow 895/6 is one of the more reliable flights in UA's international network, despite its length) — unless there's an aircraft swap, of course, which is very possible since we're 2 days
10/25 UA 895 HKG-SIN (N785UA) currently delayed until 0200, 5 hours and 35 minutes late and estimated to arrive at 0543, 5 hours and 23 minutes late due to aircraft maintenance.
I guess the return flights on 10/26 will be impacted eventually.
Update... UA 895 HKGSIN cancelled as well as the return 10/26 UA 896 SIN-HKG due to aircraft maintenance.
10/26 UA 896 HKG-ORD estimated departure at 1530, 3 hours 50 minutes late and estimated arrival at 1628, 2 hours 48 minutes late due to operational difficulties.

Another TLV cancellation
UA90 from EWR was cancelled due to maintenance on Wed 26OCT.
Of course, UA91 is cancelled tonight, 27OCT
There is an extra section UA2090 on 27OCT EWR-TLV with a return on 29OCT UA 2091.
