Are these CPU-eligible flights?
No -- no CPU on these flights. It will take RPU/GPU/mileage+copays to upgrade. Generally, these are "hard" upgrades.

Are TODs / Cash upgrades offered?
Yes, $298 cash OW upgrades are regularly offered.

Thumbs down Plan to starve

The meal experience on my SFO BOS flight in F June 17 was miserable.
Only one snack box offered for a six hour flight.
This was even harder to swallow after watching the flight attendant heat up an entree in the oven, and eat it in full view of the passengers. Her pasta looked mighty tasty.
If they aren't going to provide a hot meal, they shouldn't promote it in the pre flight information.
I would have eaten before boarding.

you were in business? Any they didn't serve a meal? Did you send in a complaint? A p.s. route meal is not what it used to be, but still a real meal.

On SFOEWR now and the FA just told those of us in Business that it is snack boxes only for the flight. They still haven’t updated their website or made an announcement in the gate area so we could go race to get an actual meal. “Premium” is not what I would call a box of salt and fat..

wow, thanks Kirby. What other cost-cutting measures are coming? A snackbox on premium transcon? Really?

United seems to have swapped the 6:30pm EWR-LAX aircraft for Wed and Thu this week. Instead of the 767 with 2-1-2 seating they now have a Polaris plane with what appears to be 1-1-1 seating. Seems odd to me. Is that usual? I elected to move my seat after noticing the change.

This is a better hard product, and it's easier to socially distance. Win Win for you.

More like win-win-win if you're in Business.

A wash in economy (2-3-2, pretty unchanged between versions) in the back unless is 763L with PremiumPlus

AFAIK most, if not all, of the remaining 763s in a 2-1-2 configuration are still in storage. For whatever reason, UA still loads 2-1-2 as the default seatmap for all 763 flights and swaps to the 1-1-1 Polaris seatmap within 48-72 hours of departure.

Wow, that's interesting. Thanks for the info. That's such a ridiculous (and United) thing to do.

As to the other comments about the aircraft being a win-win in Business - I am in Business and picked the 763 aircraft flight so that I could social distance. I originally had the middle seat in the 2-1-2 configuration. When they swapped aircraft they kept me in the middle but I moved to a window since that's even more distanced and obviously a better seat.

It also says that UA and its website is still operating with a pre-COVID mentality.

If they actually intend to compete for the fewer folks who are flying now, they need to provide current and accurate information - NOW.
