Do you get full PQDs for a roundtrip flight if you only take the outbound and don't fly the return?

If you didn't fly the return due to irrops, you may have a case for Original Route Credit (ORC) but that is dependent on the circumstances.

Move up to Gold on CC miles?
Hi all -
I just qualified for united premier silver. I'm not planning much more travel in 2015 so I was wondering - if I opened a United Mileage Plus credit card, spent the $1,000 and got the 30k mile bonus by the end of 2015, would that qualify me for Gold? Or does it have to be actual flying miles? Thanks much!

Congrats on hitting silver.
Unfortunately, status is only earned by actual flying miles. The bonus miles on credit card are used for award travel, not for status.

Hi all. Am UA plat and looking to book a one-way ORD-VIE, business class, in early Sep 2016 (so, the flights are just opening up) using miles. The only non-stop ORD-VIE is code-share through Austrian Air.
However, in looking at the redemption options, I can't find any way that I can redeem miles for the non-stop (even if I flex my days). I see economy redemption, but no business redemption.
Is there a way to find out when Austrian Air will release the business seats for award travel? I have heard that they don't do so til very close to the travel date - which is unlike any other experience I've had where I"ve been able to redeem for business class nearly a year in advance.
Since I don't want to lose the flight itself and I am UA Plat, could I redeem at the 30,000 mi/pax to gain the economy seats and then if and when business seats open up, "dump" for no fee and re-up? Does it matter that I am no longer traveling as of the beginning of 2016 and hence don't know whether I'll retain my UA Plat status by the time of this Sep 2016 trip?

When Does UA stop counting PQM towards 2016 status?
Hello everyone - first time post here.
I've been looking for this answer on united.com and FT and can't find it...
I've got about 6 trips scheduled between now and the end of the year - which will get me well over GOLD (again), but short of PLATINUM by about 10,600 miles. I'd really like to reach PLATINUM (hopefully for more FC upgrades) in 2016.
Question - When does UA stop counting PQM towards 2016? I'm guessing it is 12/31/2015 - but hey - health care plans and taxes are not on those dates - so who knows..
The reason I ask is I have some travel in January 2016 that would boost me over.
If the date IS.. 12/31/2015 - I think the only way I can get to platinum is to take advantage of the "Premier Accelerator" Option on one of my 2015 trips (unless there is another way.... ).
Thanks in advance - happy to be here...

Most likely answer is no. Each segment has its own allotment of miles and $ assigned to it. To earn the miles and PQ$, you must fly.
If you didn't fly the return due to irrops, you may have a case for Original Route Credit (ORC) but that is dependent on the circumstances.

No idea what this is all about - but can you explain it more clearly?
If you actually *do* enter the FF# when doing OLCI, they then "lose" the status in the system?
Man, I thought that things couldn't get worse with LH, but they do find More & More ways to complicate things...

I made a screenshot of my united profile page and showed this at check-in and for lounge access. It took a bit of explaining but it worked.

I finally found out what happened after I emailed United. They informed me that when you complete a Status Match Challenge, it takes up to 8 days before the Star Gold status becomes visible in the systems of the other Star Alliance carriers.

I guess I was initially correct about the database having to be updated*A-wide...

Domestic 3-class Aircraft
I had a couple of schedule changes happening over the last two weekends and a couple of segments that were changed to a 777 the BusinessFirst cabin is listed as simply Business and GlobalFirst as First. Is this a recent change? As far as I can remember UA hasn't used the terms Business and First on 3-class aircraft for a while.
Or am I getting old now?
