Remaining vestiges of United (pre-merger)...

I know there is a thread called 'Remaining vestiges of Continental' so I thought it'd be fun to start a 'remaining vestiges of United (pre-merger)' thread.

Just boarded a UA Express flight and got invited to enjoy the 'ExPlus' service.

Definitely a pmUA-ism.

How many others can you find?

I flew on a CRJ with the old UA livery as recently as last year. Does that count?

Remaining vestiges of United (pre-merger)...

The large UNITED AIR LINES red lettering at maintenance hangers at LAX and now nicely lit up at night at SFO (maybe at LAX too, don't know)

There is a facebook group devoted to this:

It is getting more difficult to find vestiges of the old United. Just a few United express planes still in the old livery.

Go to any island in Hawaii, you will see many ground equipments with the old tulip logo on it.

There are 7 ERJ-145s with the tulip as of today according to the UA fleet site. Saw an RJ at DEN a couple of weeks ago with the tulip.

Very true. I noticed that last month at HNL. Tulip's everywhere. UA has a long service history here I suppose.

I think you'll find that in most places. PHX is definitely one of them.

Pretty much any pmUA station is still littered with tulips, as far as ground equipment and the like goes. Not a lot of effort has gone into repainting much of it. Probably just not worth the time, energy, and cost it would take to do so. I'm sure it'll get done slowly over time, but surely isn't the highest of priorities right now. Especially since its not stuff passengers have any real direct contact with.

Have seen an ERJ w/ the tulip during my last few trips at ORD. Nice to see a bit of the real UA while it still lasts.

Last time I was at LNK the check in and gate area was very pmUA-esque. Granted that's been about two years ago now. Maybe someone else can weigh in if that is still true.
