Not going to come on here and pretend to be an expert on all things PM-UA and stress how "loyal" I was to UA (like the UA 2012 EXP free match/challenge bunch over on AA forum)
The good:
Westin Renewal Lounges
ORD Shower suites with robes and quality amenities
LAX IFL
Domestic widebody flights
The less good:
Indifferent disgruntled and surly employees

You could even plug your MODEM on your laptop in and do dial-up!
And yes, the "angels" in the 1K rooms were wonderful.

Few of the things I miss:
- The excitement of getting the golden boarding pass with United First written at the top
- The old Red Carpet Club membership cards
- Middle seat blocking for 1Ks
- The days of 500 mile upgrade, which were actually good for 550 miles (my personal favorite was using 1 cert for ATL-IAD/vv since it’s 533 miles)
- Schooling agents on S*UA codes to be used for certain situations
- Sweet talking your way into OpUps at the gate
- CHANNEL 9!!!!

So one could fly from BOS to IAD via ORD (or LAX, for that matter) and use 1 cert!

I came up across this Ethernet plug on one of the UA 772 HD flight reviews on YouTube.
Anyone have used that plug before?
What was the fee or membership cost to use Ethernet onboard?
was it reliable, was it only for domestic routes (coverage).
Any memory regarding that.

I don’t recall it ever being active, though I never tried it. Assumed it was for programming of the IFE or maintenance on the seat.

There's a great article in NY Times on the changes to New York City airports. Embedded within the article is a picture of the former United lobby, with Mr. Chickens all exposed.
