I changed from my original ORD flight to this one hoping the extra seats of J would better my chances. Lesson learned.

Good news is that my GPU was re-deposited today and my miles have not even posted! I was planning to draft an email to 1K Voice but seems the system worked this time.

1K on B fare. Part of a Europe to South America trip. Ended up third on waitlist at gate.
GPU applied at booking at end of November. Was pretty empty until about four weeks before the flight, when Business filled up quickly.
At least I got 1.5x PQMs and the rest of my trip did clear. Also, gum all over my Economy Plus armrest.

2016? Maybe it's trivial to change to onwards or 2017...?
 

Mods, maybe better to change the title to 2017 or onwards now that this thread is revived? Might not have enough posts for GPU failure in a single year to warrant the thread of its own?

W-class ticket purchased in Nov. 2016. C-cabin empty then but filled completely over the course of the month leading up to the flights. I know that these days are the toughest for upgrade on this route and unfortunately I did not have flexibility on flight dates but I thought I might have a good shot at it being March. The gamble did not pay off, both flights completely full in all cabins and I was number 5 on the list on the return. First time in years that my GPU upgrades have failed so I guess I cannot feel too hard done by.

Sat in 16J and shed a tear as I watched the sundaes being served through the shear curtain.

SFO-FRA / V-fare / GPU / Monday / ended up #3 and 4

Ended up #12/13 on the upgrade list at the gate

PVG-ORD, 1k W, 4/16

SFO-HKG, 1k, W Class, 10/22/17. Ended up #5 on the waitlist

FRA-SFO, 1k, V Class, 12/15/17. Ended up #28 on the waitlist. Never been so far down on the waitlist for a GPU!
