I find this strange as well. I've been nervously checking FT and UA's website all day looking for what "enhancement" they might slip into a quiet Friday news cycle. I'm most concerned about changing the SDC policy.

Here's to hoping we make it through today without any more changes to MP!

Since DL moved in the direction of UA's SDC policy this last year, that much is hopefully safe.

The GE refund applies to Nexus, too.

Canadians can apply for this refund?

Sad! :(

Cheer up. WN now flies to the mar caribe, so you can avoid UA there as well.

Or it's simply UA twitter saying it's not February 1st yet. My money's on tomorrow coming, with no changes except effective dates.

tend to agree -- at least nothing too major since the renewal pack has a set of 2014 benefits listed.

It is interesting to note there is only a small footnote in the renewal package concerning PQDs (referencing a page that presently has the 2013 benefits and no mention of PQDs).

Yes - UA loves to deceive/confuse the public as long as they can (e.g., BusinessFirst, we will install WiFi etc...), so that people don't understand they are being downgraded.

I don't think there's a geographic restriction for the benefit (but I could be wrong). You can call and ask if they can process it as a refund (they used to put the money in your travel bank), but the standard way they do this now is to give you a code that you use to pay on the site.

Past midnight in Chicago. Looks like they updated the benefits site (http://www.united.com/web/en-US/cont...r/default.aspx), but no obvious changes (just re-arranged the table a bit and added some links to things like RewardsPlus and the Benz thing).

While you are correct that nothing changed last night, the presentation of the fee waivers changed materially. There is no longer an expiration date on the Premier benefits. Instead, United can simply announce a new fee structure (hyperlinks) at any time "for tickets issued on or after xxxx". So the specific fee waivers no longer correspond the the MP program year. I think that could be significant down the road.
