To give a sense of the sort of announcement I'd expect now, it wouldn't be something like the award charts changing (which they seem happy to do anytime), but instead something like modified bag limits for Golds. But perhaps folks are right, and modern UA just makes those changes on the fly.
Gotta love a loyalty program that you don't know will look like 2-3 months down the road. |

I trust that Ill get PQD for fares and E+. I trust I won't get them for anything else. I understand there are a host of incremental questions about fare splits etc but Im glad UA is focussed on other things than answering these questions.[/]
What about cancelled reservations from 2013 with residual value that are re-ticketed for travel in 2014. Is this addressed anywhere? I assume that the PQD accrues when the flight is flown but I you know what they say about one who assumes.... Thread Drift Eliminator |
Well, some more details about PQDs at least: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...l#post21977032

Just as a heads up, today we added a few additional FAQ about 2014 PQD to mileageplusupdates.com. There's more detail on which Economy Plus purchases count, additional forms of payment, and an overview of the display you'll see on united.com in 2014.

Ah, I remember what it was like the first time I became 1K many years ago.... waiting with anticipation to see what the new year holds. To see how my loyalty would be rewarded. To see what new benefits would be bestowed upon me.
But eventually I grew up and learned that no news is good news. |

When will we get full details of the 2014 MileagePlus program?
The latest update to the United app will now show PQD starting January 1st, 2014....that's what the update said :)

It seems the major confusion is how exactly PQDs will be calculated.
I am actually more worried about 2015. US+AA will probably come up with something unfriendly... |

I would be surprised to see any more significant changes to the 2014 program (e.g., no more free E+ for Silvers) this late in the game. Though we will probably see more tinkering throughout the year, just as we have in 2013 (e.g., increases to paid and award ticket change fees).

But eventually I grew up and learned that no news is good news. Having been a Mileage Plus member since July 1, 1981, there was not a year where I didn't eagerly anticipate getting my credentials for the next year - until the last year or so. I guess there really isn't a Santa Claus. I can deal with some executives' notion that the airline is a business and not a customer service enterprise. I am just glad that I am nearing the end of my career and not just starting out - at least as flying is concerned. If I were starting out today, for me, Southwest would be the airline of choice for domestic travel. Sad! :( |

Any idea when we'll get word of the details of the 2014 program (running from Feb. 1, 2014 to Jan. 31, 2015), including any enhancements or "enhancements" to premier benefits? This is my first year really paying attention to this stuff, so I'm not sure when the final details usually get announced.

It's now Jan 31st, 2014 and the benefits site (http://www.united.com/web/en-US/cont...r/default.aspx) says benefits "Effective February 1, 2013, through January 31, 2014." ... Hmm, does that mean there are no benefits after today!? :p
