- RT or OW
- award type saver/standard/upgrade - cabin - O/D region (use UA's region titles, eg not asia but northern asia) - optional add any pertinent extra info such as mileage, stopover, partner, .... RT, saver, business, mainland US to central & southern Africa, included a stopover and several partner airline flights (all on SA). Originally booked as mixed cabin (Y on one US segment), changed to all business class without changing award type. Traveled November 2013. |

Not relevant to the NA award above or anything I typically book but shouldn't the award price as the highest possible region as the destination and the stopover is in the less expensive of the regions? |

That is interesting, as the price apparently refers to a 12.5 in Y one direction, 25 in F the other and a stopover at 10k. What makes YYZ the destination and not a stopover with MCO as destination in this situation? If YYZ was the stopover and not destination, then it would be 60k total for that itin. I can see an argument for either, but am just curious on how that gets declared.

After knowing the fare code, what is the best way to look for the associated fare rules?

*** UPDATE ****
The award fare codes have appeared to completely changed with the new Feb 2014 redemption rates. I have archived the previous wiki collection in Post #2. So its a full reset, lets start the collecting again Post your award fare codes in the wiki or thread Fare code -- OR or RT, saver / standard, cabin, UA award regions, UA only / partner award, miles You can find the award fare code in the booking confirmation e-mail (the first e-mail if done on united.com) or after selecting flights but before traveler info select "View Rules and Restrictions" Bonus points for those that also post the fare rules (use Code BB command to post, not QUOTE). We can link the wiki listing to the fare rules for future reference. let the games begin again! |

The fare rules are discoverable during the booking process -- as the system is showing you the full itin (and before you enter traveler info) look for " View Rules and Restrictions"

Fare Code ON?
When I find the fare code of ON for SFO-FRA, is that for free award travel using miles or is it an upgrade code to be applied to a revenue ticket? If an upgrade, what is the saver code for GF availability for free travel using miles?
Thanks. |

Not sure if this adds anything (I didn't see YC77 listed before):

Had a EWR-MIA-EWR booked as a saver + standard award, showing on MP as:
"Air Travel Award (37,500)" Found I could add Amtrak to make it: ZTF-EWR-MIA-EWR-ZTF and assumed that it would be the same miles. Had to call and have MP book it, although it showed as available, the last screen after selecting seats would always crash. They were able to do it on the phone, the eticket was updated, and while it still shows: MileagePlus Miles Debited/Award Used:37500/S125H-E25K My MP now shows a redeposit and higher amount of mile taken: Award Redeposit 37,500 Combined Rewards WC21P|WC21C (47,500) Is this correct, does adding a connection increase the mile needed? The website showed the same 37.5k when I searched, as does the eticket. Should I call to get a refund for the difference? |
