Specific time of day for upgrade processing
Hi All,
I am trying to find out if there is a specific time of day that United does it's upgrade processing. Or is it just a rolling check?
I am flying with my husband, I am 1K and he is platinum. I have to change my outbound flight by 1 day for work, but will still be traveling back with him on Monday.
'
Currently we are +95 hours for our return flight. To ensure we get upgraded together I am wondering if it is better for me to wait and see if we get upgraded on the return flight and then make my change?
If you do know the time they process upgrades please include timezone. I am in Hawaii.
Thanks

Outside of the 24 hour window from the flight, it's usually at the 24, 48, 72, 96 hour mark plus or minus an hour or two. Sometimes I've seen it outside these parameters but, hey, it's SHARES so anything an happen.

This has been my general experience. The sweeps generally run very close to T-96, T-72, and T-48; T-24 can be a little looser, with that sweep often running a few hours earlier.
Note also that the e-mail notification can come several hours after the upgrade has occurred. I like to check my reservation at the sweep times so I can grab a good seat before the e-mails go out.
