You read the article wrong, they are not moving to DWC. I am glad they want to remain at DXB.

You realize that the USA did $74billion worth of trade with Saudi Arabia last year, right?

Also, SV already flies to IAD.

I wonder how UA will handle female Pilots/First Officers and Riyadh? Or more important how Riyadh will handle them.

This makes sense, fly somewhere direct where you don't have competition so you don't have to compete on product/service. We can honestly say Saudi Airlines will NOT be competition for them.

Well, that clears it up

Guess I should be more clear. Will female Pilots/First Officers be allowed to fly to Riyadh?

I'm going there next week, and even if I could get Star or OW credit for Saudi, I'd still connect w/ a (non-dry) Eurpean airline over taking them nonstop

Not that I frequent IAD-DXB route on UA, but the bit in the title about moving from DXB to DWC had me laughing out loud. Were they to do that now, well...

I too had to reread the headline a few times and read the article to get what was really happening. Two separate events that are really unrelated.

What I'm not clear about is why UA would shift Dubai airports due to runway maintenance "reducing DXB to one runway." AFAIK, the new airport only has one operational runway for the immediate future (they plan to have 5 eventually)--is it just that they don't have as much passenger traffic?
