Lounge access without physical *A Gold Card
I searched the threads and could not find the answer to this query.
I am flying several UA itineraries in economy as a UA Gold member. I am also TK Elite Gold which would give me access to UA domestic lounges. I achieved TK Gold on 8/29/13 and still have not been sent the physical TK Gold Card. I have a printout from the TK website with my Gold status verified as well as with mileage used to achieve such. Could I use this printout to access UA domestic lounges in the absence of the TK physical card? If not, should I place my TK FF number on the boarding pass to achieve access (if that even will work) and then change the FF to UA at the boarding gate? Seems like a lot of trouble. Thanks for your input.

Note that there are rogue lounge receptionists and rogue lounges that refuse lounge access to anyone if the flight is domestic.
Yes it does seem like a lot of trouble.

I doubt the print out will give you access. Your best bet is to change the FF number before check in, and change it again before boarding.

That is the theory. That is how it works at NH, LH, AC, and SK clubs. But lower your expectations and thus expect the lounge receptionist to demand a *G card.

Not necessarily how it works at all that you mentioned. LH is better now, for sure, but I fly to YYZ quite a bit, and I would say I've had to show my card to enter the MLL about 80% of the time if flying in Y.

Before my physical card came I just printed the info off of the TK website. I used it in IAD for both UA Club and LH without a problem. they enterd the number manually and I was in. IAD is notorious for dragon ladies so I was a little worried but all went well. Good luck

I do not doubt you. I have not had to present a card to a MLL in years but your experience reinforces the adage that if one wants access to any lounge in *A based on your status, bring ones card.
