I wonder if UA 14 was cancelled due to UA 145 being cancelled. United Cancellations on FlightAware

makes sense, no bird to fly the route. Seems like a lot of unhappy campers if the flights were full. I started keeping an eye on the birds flying these routes since I've got an upcoming MR to HNL in mid April and hoping for a converted 764 on HNL-IAD (I realize, very slim chance).

I was on a converted 764 EWR-HNL in early May, and was looking forward to the flat seat, but it has since been downgraded. Oh well.

Did you get that data from a website or some other system?

Why would they not cancel UA 144 HNL-IAD instead.

Last Christmas season, I was suprised to be flying in the nicer, converted 764 IAD-HNL r/t. Very pleasant flight in both directions. A few days before my trip, UA 145 had been canceled twice due to a bird strike and on another occassion, problems with the generator.

Smile UA4604 RIC-IAH diverted to AEX

Due to strong head winds ran out of gas so landed in Alexandria, LA.

Umm, thanks for the update? Not sure why it needs a ? I'm sure the passengers, though safe, weren't at the diversion.

AEX is a nice quiet airport with a very long runway, as it used to be an Air Force base. UA has ground personnel there, as well. I'd be surprised if they were on the ground more than 30 minutes.

Flight Delays - Life on the road...ugh!

So, here at BWI waiting for a short run home to EWR, initially scheduled for 9:45AM now delayed to depart at 1:04PM. Over 3 hours awaiting delayed inbound aircraft from CLE.

So, how long before you loose patience and voice a bit of frustration?

I am looking forward to some of the responses

When the delay was greater than 2 hours, I'd have asked for rental car/Amtrak as well as ORC.

If you have an AmEx Plat (or maybe Priority Pass?) hit the Aerospace lounge there.

I am sitting in that lounger, it's quite nice actually.

The bummer is, I was taking the flight in place of driving for the 500 miles min. I have yet to try Amtrak but am very interested in giving it a shot.
