Happens nearly every weekend with the schedule changes running through the system.

Obviously, UA doesn't fly a Q200 IAD-FCO nor does a Q200 do aerial refueling and there is no reason to think one would need a parachute. Flying a Q200 IAD-FCO would be a fairly simply routing and could likely be done even without attaching extra fuel tanks - e.g.:

This routing map (link above) is wonderful...... been looking for a way to get to the Faroes (Islands) and still get UA miles.....and avoid that annoying back-tracking connection in Europe!

Indeed, my best was PHL-IAD-EWR-PIT-CLE-IND-ORD. Under $100. 5 connections with 6 segments and 0 mis-connects. 3000 miles. IAD-EWR was a 737, all others express - some RJs, some prop. It was a fun day.

Ah, if such flights existed. I'd take them occasionally even without mile credit.

Best we can do is the island hopper ex-HNL.

Late 2011. It was a very short lived fare I found one early Saturday morning.

The lack of a meal is a different, but equally common glitch. It pops up all over the place including some total head scratchers like nothing to Europe in F. A varient of this is "food for purchase" listed for the premium cabins on flights to Asia.

But, back to the Q200. I'm thinking that instead of building floating airports they might be doing this:

I just have to ask - does no one at COdbaUA realize how amateurish these ongoing mistakes make them look? Or, do they just not care.

I really envy you!!!

I'm sure they know, but it's not on their priority list. How many passengers even know what plane they're on?
