Can’t one go through security to the Schengen area even on a BP to non-Schengen?

7/7 Friday

Visited Friday. It is pretty bad for a lounge. Arrived during the change from Breakfast to Lunch. Mostly cold options. Beer, Wine, and some inexpensive wells available.

Besides the noise and limited seats, there is no power ports anywhere.

problem solved. Stay in Schengen area and go to *A lounge until somewhat before boarding time.

(I assumed this, but came through recently connecting from Schengen to US so was past security.)

Coming from the US in transit, just have to get an entry (passport) stamp and an exit passport stamp.

Personally, I'd remain in transit while on non-Schengen to non-Schengen itineraries via Schengen airports. Lounges are also crowded just like the US...that is a huge turn off for me; certainly not worth wasting two stamps. I have tried both A* lounge (and KLM lounges) and were disappointed.

Aspire Lounge 41 in non-Schengen area is still closed this Sunday.
Cafe Flor at D7 is still the substitute. Was asked to scan an QR code for lineup. I was #14 and waited about 20 mins before they let me in on Sunday at around noon time. Here is the link for QR code lineup at Cafe Flor:
https://lineup.withgoogle.com/queue/...8nDyGnBCU33WEE

If you don't keep high expectation, Cafe Flor is still okay as a lounge substitute. Beer on tap, barista coffee, unlimited soft drinks, some salad and hot pastry.

AMS Aspire Lounge Now Open: 22-Feb-2024

The Aspire lounge (Lounge 41) reopened today at AMS. Long lines and a waiting list (scan a QR code and wait for notification). However United business pax could skip the line and go straight in.

same space (as far as I can tell) but updated seating, etc.

there was a section in the back cordoned off for Singapore Aiines passengers.

very busy.

UA lounge at AMS Schiphol?

What's the status of the UA lounge at AMS (Schiphol)? When I was last there in May, it was closed for "renovations" and two restaurants were instead converted into fake lounges (food and beverages, but nothing else). Are the renovations taking longer than they should?

Unfortunately, I don't qualify for the Star Alliance lounge, and that is in the Schengen area, not the international area, anyway.

Thanks for any updates!

Yes, but that's not free to UA travelers in Business, right? And, it charges extra for the showers (17.50 euros).

Aspire lounge is available for UA Polaris (business) passengers. If you are not flying in J, and using *G, then you can use the *A lounge which is in the Schengen zone. It's around 12min walk to departure gate + immigration time.

Nothing as you're connecting. FYI, I found Lounge 41 really horrible when departing about a month ago (on AC). The Schengen *A lounge on the other seems pretty okay.
