Am I doing something wrong or is it the agent?
I have
CDG-DOH-TBS-IST-BEY, CAI-ZRH-BCN booked right now, due to the situation in Lebanon, i don't want to go to Beirut and I want to change it to
CDG-DOH-TBS-IST, CAI-ZRH-BCN and the agent is telling me she can't do it. I am just asking her to delete IST-BEY and to put the open jaw between IST and CAI instead of BEY and CAI, what's the problem here?

[Moderator note: As the thread title has been edited, member's first sentence is deleted as moot.] Any chance that [the agent] basically has the upper hand and knows that you will spend however much more time on the phone getting done what you need done?
Are you on a non-changeable/refundable routing?

Hey, I knew TBS. BEY is almost harder in that when I see BER, I think BEY.
Is this an award ticket? Can you do it as two one ways to solve the problem?
If the double open jaw was illegal in the first version, leaving it alone probably would have been OK, but once someone notices the violation of rules, they won't reissue the ticket without fixing the violation. You might still have a choice to keep the BEY segment and have the original ticket remain intact if this is something you would consider. Is BEY now on some official "avoid" list?

Two open jaws are OK. I don't know about changing the regions, though. Your original ticket was to BEY and then out of CAI, which I believe are in the same award region. IST is considered to be in Europe so that may be the problem. Furthermore, on your outbound you are staying withing Europe (CDG, IST) but traveling between the end points via other regions (don't know if that's an issue). Do you have any stopovers on your itin?

It's an award, TBS is the stopover, the destination was BEY, but I am changing it to IST. I directed them to the provision on united.com that says two open jaws are ok (since they told me this wasn't the case), then they told me stopovers weren't ok (again showed them the provision). They are allegedly doing the changes now, just hope they don't mess it up and scrap my QR flights, I am due to leave Friday...this has been ticketed for months, just decided to make this change as the situation in Syria has convinced me this is not the time to visit Beirut.
IST is now in Europe, it used to be in Europe or Middle East (whichever was cheaper), but i'm not asking for mileage back. I am still paying the middle east rate even if it's just for going ex-CAI.

In the end they made CDG-DOH-TBS a 1-way, CAI-ZRH-BCN a 1-way and I just shelled out $ for a TBS-IST revenue flight. Did I get screwed here?
Is CDG-DOH-TBS(Stop)-IST(Destination) open jaw CAI-ZRH-BCN a legal routing or not?

Anyone? I am now out the $ for a change, and had to buy a TBS-IST 1-way (and now have to fly in coach), plus the 7,500 miles United owes me STILL hasn't been redeposited in my account and that will likely require another 2 hour call at int'l rates to sort out. Were they right or should my ticket have been allowed the way I wanted it?
