Charge 1K for E+ access?
Has this happened to anyone on the PMUA?
I purchased a multi-leg ticket back in April, (SFO-NRT-SIN-NRT-SFO). After I purchased my ticket and selected my seats, dot bomb then proceeded to charge me $460+ worth of economy plus charges. I have been a 1K for the past 5 years.
Even with one SWU clearing for the outbound legs, these charges are still on my credit card statement. Is this how the "new UA" works? I put in for a refund on dot bomb; should I just dispute the charges with Chase (I have an old Platinum UA Visa)?

Never happened to me and never heard any other 1Ks having the same problem. It sounds like you weren't logged in. You frequently need to be determined and persistent to get a refund.

Since I was logged in to buy the tickets, I thought it was a glitch due to the merger and as I planned to apply SWUs to the flight, I didn't want to mess up the order in the queue by cancelling the ticket and reissuing it, risking a higher price due to their new dynamic pricing. Another oddity was that my confirmations went to an email address that was mine but never used with UA.

so, that meant they charged me $250 AND took a regional. I called old 1 K desk and the agent was furious. She gave me the refund right away. (told me the first agent that said I was getting a refund sent it to the refunds dept which 1K agents DON'T have to do. They have (had?) the power to issue refunds all on there own
