Anyone Else Having Problems Changing Seats?

The site won't let me change E+ seats without a charge...
I've requalified for Premier Silver (40k PQMs so far this year), and although I'm able to get an initial E+ assignment, it tries to charge me the standard E+ charge any time I want to move a seat ($59, etc.)...
Is that right? Anybody else having this issue also?
Also, if I can indulge my frustrations for a moment, is it really *that hard* to build a website that works in 2012 A.D.?

i'm having the same problem for my flight tomorrow.
online is showing me in 1f, but i want to be in (and selected, and hit continue) 2f. upon calling, agent could see 'correct' seating assignment...but it's frustrating and annoying that i can't.

Any chance the flight you are trying to change seats on was upgraded and is after a flight that wasn't upgraded? I've noticed sometimes that seats have trouble sticking if my flights get upgraded out of order.

I went into my reservation (two weeks away) in hopes of finding a better seat. On my two mainline flights my seats have been dropped and there is a message saying reaccommodation pending. The seats on the COEX flights are still there. I wasn't happy with the original seats which did show up in the email confirmation, but at least they were on the aisle. I really don't want to end up in a middle seat. I also don't want to spend forever on the phone waiting for an agent. Any thoughts?

Seat map is showing for the second segment, but the seat is showing as the seat I had until the afternoon, when I changed it online. Agent says the newer seat is correct, but "sometimes the website can't see it" when you make a seat change.
Really?

Interesting thought. It's surrounded by flights on RJ's, which de facto aren't upgraded. Wonder if that's it.

Just a guess, however.

I had posted earlier about dropped seat assignments. I just went back into my record and was able to assign myself seats, and it looks like they are sticking. I'm happy with one, the other not so much. It's in the back of the plane, but at least it's on the aisle. I guess I'll get to have my first go on trying for an E+ at T24.

+1. you click and nothing happens. Had to call and UA had a break up the "direct" into segments, and then I could switch seats. The system "randomly" assigned seats so we were all scattered about for no reason. Took about 20 min to have the seats changed by UA for something so simple. Though, at least the agent was nice about it rathan than speaking to me in a tone like I was bothering them.
