On today's 7/3 UA922 IAD-LHR, two 1Ks traveling on W fares and already upgraded with GPUs to BusinessFirst were offered an upgrade to GlobalFirst for only $1599 each ("2 seats available"); we declined.

C is booked 15/26 with no one on the upgrade list; F is booked 3/6 with no one on the upgrade list and one seat reserved (crew rest?).

6/27/12 SAN-IAH-BOG-MDE

CPU'd T-48 on SAN-IAH

Business was booked full for IAH-BOG at time of check in, and no offer received. Checked inventory after arrival at IAH and saw 2 seats had opened. I went back to the check in screen and was offered UG for $179, which seems about right from U to D.

Since I was already in a bulkhead aisle in coach, I declined. I was #1 on the UG list from time of check in and did get the CPU in the end, as did #2. So, nobody took the offer.

ORD-DCA, A320, E fare, $270 TOD offered at T-24. Declined; did not complete check-in online. Got an e-mail telling me UDU cleared at T-20. I'm Silver.

SNA-DEN, A320, H fare, $109 TOD offered at checkin (t-21 approx). Already said CPU waitlisted. Declined. Currently sitting at #7 on the UG list with 11/12 booked

7/4 IAD to DXB - confirmed in BF with GPUs - offered a TOD to GF for $924 - accepted

7/8 DXB to IAD - confirmed in BF with GPUs - offered a TOD to GF for $1200 - accepted

7/28 ORD-LGA offered TOD to me for $74 - declined

Upgrade using miles or RPU would be "waitlist only." First class is currently showing 5 of 6 seats unassigned on outbound, 10 of 12 unassigned on return

SANIAD E fare. 1K waitlisted using RPU, was #6. Offered and took $179 buyup at kiosk 60 mins prior to departure.

BOS-EWR Silver on a T fare. Offered $79 at OLCI, declined. Took my bulkhead seat and was just fine on a 1hr flight.

BOS > DEN in a couple of weeks. Evening flight, buy up to a P fare for $90 ... you bet I took it, heck the EQM bonus alone pays for itself at $.10 a mile or so ^

What's the logic here?
Booked JFK-SFO-EWR. JFK-SFO is PS and used miles to upgrade, cleared already.
SFO-EWR is new Lie Flats, waitlisted with RPUs. TOD offer keeps changing when I log in to check R.
Highest it's been is $1500+ and lowest is $1200+. What is making it fluctuate?
It started lowish, went high, then came down to lowest it's been today. Confusing.

BOS > DEN, offered an upgrade to P for $100 - evening flight.

If it wasn't accumulating the EQM bonus I wouldn't bother - but it does. So it means just a little bit less here and there if I need to do a MR later this year ;)

Cannot find fare class anywhere.
Paid $700
Offer of TOD for $149 to PAX flying with me on separate PNR. PAX has no status whatsoever.
Fare for me as a 1k to get the same seat: $1900.
