BP stamped on entry to UC

Ms. cranky1K and I were at the SFO T3 UC this morning. After my BP was stamped I was asked if anyone was with me. My better half approached the counter and they asked for her BP which they then stamped. I asked why they needed her BP and was told it was to allow her to reenter the club without me. First time I heard this explanation.
