Yeah, especially since the introduction of free house liquor, the value proposition really is there at $20, if I've got a longish layover.

Question Continental Chase Pass

Thought I'd try this on here before starting a new thread. I have a couple of unexpired Continental Chase one-time passes that I was planning on using next month. Will those still work in the new "United Club" setup? Can I access any United/Continental club, or just the Continental lounges?

Since Continental lounges are no more I would assume these are good at the UC... YMMV!

The passes worked at the RCCs, so I assume they will still work. Mrs. ralfp reports that they do check the expiration dates.

Doubtful that is the real reason, probably the agent made something up, if not you would see ad everywhere to advertise this offer.

In fact no one know about this until this thread posted.

Nice heads up

Thanks for this. I am a returning 1K (matched over from DL) and have not been in a RCC (UC) since 2001. I am LA based and will be flying later this am. Do I need to specifically ask for a promo or do I just ask for a day pass?

Thanks guys.

The $19 was designed as a soft landing for the AMEX folks and was extended to everyone as they felt it was unfare to charge one group of people one entrance fee and another group something else. They did this because they were getting a lot of complaints that they were not told of the change.

Also it is interesting to note that I was in a Sky Club the other day and they were telling people they couldnt get into a UC with Priority Pass. When I corrected agent to say the Priority pass given via CC offer he insisted it was all Priority Pass. I droppped it at that!

Is this like AA, where a day pass is good at any AC the same day; so an RCC pass would be good at any RCC system-wide?

Jut what we need more amateurs asking dumb questions to gate agents at the club holding up the line.

Gets worse every week and this cheap promo isnt going to help.

Which flights board from the club? That's a benefit worth $19, IMO.

The value proposition at $19 is definitely there for someone who has a long enough layover and needs the quiet of the club for whatever reason. I'm often on calls at the airport and club membership is HUGE for me. I've once paid $40 to get into a club so I could take an hour conference call and it was well worth it.

Since I purchased an annual membership 3 weeks ago, I've already used it 10 times (ORD RCC 3x, EWR RCC 3x, EWR PC 2x, IAH PC 1x, CLT US club 1x). It's definitely useful, and nice to get away from the much noiser and more crowded terminal. For all the complaints about how the clubs are so crowded and noisy, they're still an order of magnitude better than sitting in the terminal the vast majority of the time (unless you're in areas like the practically abandoned terminals in PIT)
